Self-Represented
Barb Daniell is an artist living and working in Western Newfoundland. Like many of her works, Morning, Noon, Night is rooted in the natural beauty of the Gros Morne region. Working in Bonne Bay, she photographed the summer skyline from early morning till dusk. She described the colours in these shots as “feeling suspended in space” and “beautifully minimal in their appearance.” Constructed from acrylic paint on mulberry paper, Daniell sought to show colour variations over the course of the day using simple materials.
